Hamilton Real Estate

Hamilton, located on the North Shore is a residential community of protected rural beauty, but conveniently situated only minutes away from other towns offering commercial, recreational and employment activity. The town preserves its largely unspoiled pastoral environment by offering no industrial zoning. Large areas of open and agricultural land include the Audubon preserve, Bradley Palmer State Park, Myopia Hunt Club and several large estates and farms. Pristine Chebacco Lake provides additional outdoor recreation.

Among Hamilton's great resources are its exceptional public schools. Hamilton shares a regional school district with neighboring Wenham, a similarly rural residential community of affluent homes. The school system encompasses three elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Additionally, Hamilton is home to the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and nearby Gordon College. The Seminary is situated on 118 acres of rolling hills and woods in South Hamilton.

Hamilton, incorporated as a town in 1793, is 24 miles north of Boston and within close proximity to some of the best beaches in New England. Neighboring communities include Beverly, Essex, Ipswich, Manchester, Topsfield and Wenham. The principal roads that pass through the town are Routes 22 and 1A. A short drive along 1A provides an abundance of shopping and commercial activity. The major artery of the North Shore, Route 128, is also a short distance away through Manchester. The small and quaint area of shops at the center of town also offers a train station on the Boston-Ipswich commuter rail line. Across the street from the station are other town facilities such as the police and fire stations, as well as the Hamilton-Wenham Community Center that offers recreational activities for residents of all ages.

Prices of homes in this valuable market begin in the high 200's for a condo/ townhouse. Single family homes, largely in traditional colonial and cape styles average in the $475,000 to $550,000 range. Exceptional homes and estates are available for upwards of $3 million.
